Waffle Party

I ended up with a huge Costco bag of waffle mix, which is totally fine cause I love waffles and pancakes, but I thought "Hey let's have a waffle party!" I put this plan into action this morning. Here are the pictures! (Brynna was skiing.)

Love of My Life

Let's face it, some of the people who just read the title are going to think that I have a boyfriend or am engaged or getting married or something like that. That is not what I am blogging about at all! The love of my life (at least in the winter! ) is SKIING!!! There is nothing like that feeling of freedom that comes when you are wooshing around at top speed and weaving between trees. Sadly, Utah's weather has been kinda crazy and there isn't much snow lying around so I've only gone twice. You'll want to check out what follows this though :) It will be well worth your time! And yes, yes I can ski with the camera in my un-gloved left hand. (This post is mostly for people who haven't tasted the joy of skiing. Yet.)

Tribute to Jake

You all probably know that I have a lot of friends leaving on their missions this year... Well Jake is one of my absolute favorite people that I have met here and we went to his farewell today. I was going to try to do an "Introducing" post about him but time has just slipped away so I will combine it all into one lovely post.

Some of the reasons I will miss him (and actually already do): Cannon Center dinners, his creativity, raspberry yogurt, American Heritage, Dominion and how he almost always won, his dance moves and love of the Muppets, his fondness for skiing and the way he was always ready to have an adventure!

Jake, if you read this, know that I know you will do a great job and I will see you in 2 years! Be safe and don't forget about your first FHE family!
Now for the candid pictures :)

Him as a cookie missionary

As always :)

And here I'll leave this tribute with our happy FHE family, frozen in a photo.
I hope to get an updated one in a little over 2 years! Stay tuned until then :)

Injuries

As some of you may know *cough cough, Mer* for some crazy reason, I get injured on a rather regular basis. Here are some of the best ones that I have received from living at BYU so far.

Yep I have no idea how I got this one... I just woke up after living at our apartment for about a week and my roommates were like "What happened to your arm?"

I got these one trying to take my laundry basket out to the car and somehow I got my hand scraped off on the brick wall in the hallway. These pictures are from when my hand was like half way healed.

I'm pretty sure I will continue to get injured so yeah... Hopefully not as bad as these two though.

Introducing: Meredith

So one of the most important people in my life right now is my room roommate Meredith. I didn't know her at all before we started to share a room and it has worked out just fine. She is from the sunny land of California and sadly hasn't really experienced any real snow since the couple of storms we have had have all melted... These pictures help illustrate why I love her.

She keeps me smiling
Nuff said.

We make some good breakfast

No fear of creepy creatures

We rock the outdoors

She looks like a 50s movie star

We can watch movies like this and find enjoyment

Hot chocolate buddies? Heck yeah!

She sometimes tries to be the furniture :)
She is someone I can talk to about anything

Well that is Mer. At least the things I can think of right now, she is much more than just what these pictures represent! I hope all of you get to meet her if you haven't already. Keep checking in for more of our random adventures!

People

I think if you are going to continue to read my blog, you are going to want to know who certain people are. Luckily for you, I am nice and am going to do a post on people you should come to recognize. I hope you enjoy all of the candid pictures I have either taken or found on Facebook if I didn't have enough. ;D

Yikes Maj!

Well hopefully you read the post about Mr. Spider. If you haven't, go read it now. Anyways, one night Mer and I were about to go to bed. Mer had turned off the lights and then remembered that she needed to get something so she turned them back on (this all took place before she got into bed). For some reason she pulled her sheets down with the light still on and found... duh duh duh... A SPIDER IN HER BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's just say that it was a little harder to fall asleep that night...
Brave hands
Sorry you can't really see it in the picture but it was there, a small white spider...
